About
I have always an interest and aptitude for science and became particularly enticed during my GCSE and A-level studies at secondary school, wanting to learn more about the application side.

I applied for Chemical Engineering at various Universities around the UK, though due to the anxiety of preparing for what I thought was my entire future career and the rest of my life I ended up below the entry requirements. It was not till later in my time at University I was diagnosed with social anxiety and depression and received the help I needed - allowing me to progress and succeed. As it turns out my grades were sufficient for other engineering degrees and I was offered an alternative course, with it sharing many modules, labs and general areas of interest I accepted an alternative offer of BEng Materials Engineering at Loughborough University.

Once I had found my footing and received some mental health support I started to excel, upping my course to an MEng, graduating First Class Honours and completing my thesis on composites of PLA, PBAT, and cellulose at the Department of Materials at Loughborough University.
I have undertaken work for companies such as LKAB Minerals, Unilever, and WRAP. Primarily working within the fields of polymer chemistry and physics, plastics and composites, additives and fillers, packaging in FMCG, alternative materials, resource sustainability and circularity, and waste management.
I am currently working for WRAP as a Specialist in Plastics, supporting the UK Plastics Pact.
Why start a website?
I am going through somewhat of a tumultuous time with respect to cementing my views, opinions, and beliefs. In part because I specifically do not wish to cement them; instead I wish for them to be perpetually challenged; with the aim of continuously refining why I hold them or changed them. For that purpose I wished to create a quiet 'corner' of the internet to shout into at length on such topics, as well as those relating to my technical knowledge on materials and systemic struggles around them. I freely invite anyone to respond to what I place on this website in the hopes that it leads to collaboration and change. I also hope that what I write is actually coherent, evidenced, well-reasoned, and may even change the views of others.
